WILSON, NC – On Tuesday night at Fleming Stadium, the Wilson Tobs hosted the Morehead City Marlins in a game with big time playoff implications for the Tobs. With weather cutting the game shut after five innings of play, it was the Tobs that came out on top 1-0.

Wilson native Jacob Dienes got the start for the Tobs, getting off to a rocky start. Dienes had the bases loaded against him in the top of the first frame. Dienes battled out of the self-inflicted trouble and held the Marlins off the scoreboard in the first inning.

The game remained scoreless for much of the beginning of the game until Jack Kail cranked an RBI double in the bottom of the third inning to give the Tobs a 1-0 lead that would hold for good.

With Wilson still holding onto a slim 1-0 lead in the bottom of the fifth, the game was called, as inclement weather rolled into town.

With the game counting as an official game being through the road half of the fifth inning, the Tobs walk away with the win by a final score of 1-0.

Wilson is back in action on Wednesday night in Tri-City, as the Tobs take on the Chili Peppers at 7 p.m. ET.
