Morehead City, N.C. – The Wilson Tobs (13-9) left the bases loaded in the ninth in a 4-1 loss to the Morehead City Marlins (12-8).

 

The Marlins took the lead 2-0 in the second inning; furthering it to 3-0 on a sacrifice fly in the fifth. 

 

In the seventh, Carter Murphy got on board for Wilson with a solo home run. This proved to be the only run for the Tobs, making it a 3-1 game. 

 

Silas Jones got the start on the mound for the Tobs, retiring the first three batters in order. He went 4.2 innings with three strikeouts. Jones was relieved by Hunter Dyck who came in with runners on the corners and got out of the inning. Ryan Harrahill and Ethan Atchley came in to close out the game.

 

The scoring for both teams ended with an RBI double from Morehead to finalize the score at 4-1. 

 

On Saturday, the TaterHogs will host the Macon Bacon for Tailgate Night at Historic Fleming Stadium. First pitch is scheduled for 6:30pm.
