College & High School Spring Classics
Every spring the Wilson Tobs open up baseball season with a full schedule of College & High School Baseball Classics, as well as being a host for a Conference Championship. Starting in February and running through May, these events bring teams from numerous different states to Wilson to compete at Historic Fleming Stadium.
With teams traveling from places like Michigan & New Hampshire for the College Classics and every part of North Carolina for the High School Classics, these events get an incredible amount of "eyes" on Wilson. The spring book-in program of the Tobs makes the baseball culture in Wilson strong, while also bringing in a significant economic impact.
The Tobs have hosted multiple Conference Championships at Fleming Stadium over the years, with Conference Carolinas being the most recent. In 2021 & 2022, Conference Carolinas made a return to Fleming after many years. With 8 teams playing over 12+ games in 5 days, this tournament is always filled with excitement and non stop high level baseball. From local teams like Barton & Mount Olive to teams from as far as Tennessee & Georgia, every one of them contributes to the Wilson baseball culture and stimulates the Wilson economy.
With over 700+ players and their families coming to Wilson during the spring months, the impact these events have is a kick start each season. These events provide a boost in tourism and excite baseball fans leading up to the Wilson Tobs summer season.
