The Wilson Tobs (29-16) beat the Holly Spring Salamanders (22-25) 9-1, bringing the EmergeOrtho Smoke Showdown to an end. Wilson came out on top beating Holly Springs in three out of five total games.

The Tobs pitching staff was able to keep the Salamanders to just one run while the offense scored plenty. Matt Williams was responsible for over half of the runs scored by the Tobs thanks to a double and a home run. His five RBIs move him to lead the team with 40 total.

Newcomer Oliver Zohn joined Thad Ector, Jose Sallorin, and Levi McAllister in driving in a run each for the Tobs. Josh Wise got the start on the mound, tossing three scoreless innings.

Out of the bullpen, Hunter Dyck was dominant, striking out all three batters he faced in a perfect frame. Ethan Atchley sealed the win with a strong final inning, notching two strikeouts to close it out.

Due to the Peninsula Pilots victory over the Tri-City tonight, the Pilots secure the #1 seed in the CPL Playoffs and the Wilson Tobs secure the #2 seed.
