The Tobs bats were fairly cold to open up the matchup struggling to earn themselves bases as 5 of their first six outs all came by way of strikeout. The Pilots tallied most of their damage in the bottom of the 3rd scoring 4 runs on 2 hits and 1 error. This explosion catapulted the pilots to a 5-1 lead over the Tobs.
The Top of the 7th was the catalyst Wilson needed to take the lead. A Chance Purvis single combined with a Andrew Horvath base knock and a Kaden Sigmon walk loaded the bases for the Tobs. Then Kasten Harvey worked a six pitch walk to score Chance Purvis. Tobs trail 5-2. With the bases still loaded Dawerlyn Amancio forced an error by the 3rd baseman which scored Kaden Sigmon in the process. Tobs trail 5-3. Then Cole Robinson cranked a line drive down the 3rd baseline which made it all the way to the back wall and cleared the bases for a 3 RBI double. Tobs lead 6-5. Then to close out the inning AJ Jones forced an RBI single with a base knock to left field.
The matchup stayed relatively quiet all the way until the top of the 9th when Wilson added on 3 more insurance runs thanks to hits from Wainwright, Jones, Purvis, and Taylor.
Wilson picked up a moral boosting win to expand their record to 2-0.
