Wilson, N.C. – The Wilson Tobs were exhilarated to welcome back their Annual High School Varsity Baseball Classic after a couple of years off due to Covid. Historic Fleming Stadium held host to (16) teams playing a total of (8) games on Friday, March 18th and Saturday, March 19th.
As promised there was no monetary team entry fee, but instead the entry fee was non-perishable food donations for the Wilson Tobs Home Run for Hunger Program. Donations provided by players, coaches, and fans were collected and will be distributed to 13+ Wilson County food pantries to help feed those in the area who are less fortunate. Bringing competitive high school baseball back to Wilson for a wonderful cause made this event a home run. The Wilson Tobs are grateful to all the teams and fans who donated nonperishable food items for this event.
