Wilson, NC – The Tobs are one win away from their first championship in franchise history thanks to a 3-2 victory over the Forest City Owls on Saturday night.

Wilson won its 12 straight behind a stellar pitching performance from Zach Robinson. In just his third start in town, Robinson delivered seven innings of two run ball – outdueling Carson Small from Forest City, who allowed nine hits and two runs in six innings.

Offensively, Thad Ector got the Tobs going with a solo shot in the second. The Tobs offense added runs in the 4th and 7th frames, thanks to clutch hitting from Christian Michak and Matthew Williams.

Casey O’Dell entered the game with two outs in the 8th inning and converted a four out save. Wilson’s crowd was on its feet the entire 9th inning and stayed cheering long after the game had ended in what may have been their last chance to cheer on the Tobs.

The Tobacconists travel to Forest City for game two Sunday and game three (if necessary) on Monday. First pitch is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. both evenings.
