WILSON, N.C. – Led by Connor Tucker’s 3-for-5, two-RBI day and both Anton Lazits’ and Rafe Perich’s multi-hit contest, the Wilson Tobs (19-13, 5-3) picked up their final home victory prior to the All-Star break with a 10-6 win over the Florence Flamingos (12-21, 2-7) on Saturday night at Historic Fleming Stadium.

Though Florence struck first early, the Tobs would immediately punch back. A two-run single off the bat of Chase Waddell down the right line tied the ballgame up at two as we moved to the second. And after trailing 4-2 heading into the home half of the fourth, Wilson proceeded to put up a five-spot in the inning, aided by a Brian Fry RBI walk and a Rafe Perich bases-clearing double. It was all Tobs the rest of the way.

A two-run sixth and a Tucker RBI base knock in the eighth put the Flamingos away in the four-run victory, with Wilson now moving to 1-1 against Florence so far this season in the 2023 campaign.

Up next for the Tobs, a trip to Ting Stadium in Holly Springs for a date with the Salamanders on Sunday evening. First pitch is scheduled for 5:45 p.m. ET.
