Wilson got back into the [W] column in Macon, with a 4-2 win over the Bacon.

After 18 straight games of Coastal Plain League play against the East division, the Tobs (12-8) continued their bout of games against the West. 430 miles separate the Tobs and the Bacon (7-13), who squared off for the first time in franchise history on Tuesday.

Offensively, the damage was done early. The Tobs plated runs on an RBI single from Carter Murphy, a balk, an RBI ground out from Logan Luckett and a SAC fly from Jack Kail. All scoring in the game was done by the 5th inning.

The story of the game was on the mound for Wilson. Nathan Leininger got the start and pitched three scoreless frames, striking out four. Zac Martin (2-0) got the win and pitched the middle three innings, allowing just one run.

Dylan Van Meeteren was next up, pitching two perfect innings of relief to hand the ball over to Casey O’Dell, who locked down his second save of the season to seal the victory.

The Tobs continue their road trip against the West in Florence for a battle with the Flamingos on Wednesday before heading home on Thursday for Pink Night at Historic Fleming Stadium.

The Tobs play the Greenville Yard Gnomes at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday night.
