Wilson, NC – Wilson (21-14) gets back in the win column in a shortened game over Tri-City (11-23).

After an hour of weather delay, the Tobs shutout the Chili Peppers. Silas Jones started on the mound with five innings and seven strikeouts. Casey O’Dell came out of the bullpen to toss a 1-2-3 inning and claim his fifth save of the season.

Offensively, Wilson only needed one run to secure the win. Jose Sallorin lined an RBI-single into the right-center field gap in the 4th to plate Chase Waddell, who reached on an error to lead off the frame.

Before the seventh inning, lightning came back into the area which caused the game to be postponed.

The Tobacconists are off Sunday and Monday before returning home to Historic Fleming Stadium to host the Holly Springs Salamanders at 6:30 p.m. Beach and Baseball festivities will carry over, as well at $2 Tuesday at the ballpark.
