Tobs Ready To Begin ‘23 Baseball Season With a Bang

Wilson, NC – The Wilson Tobs are excited to announce the schedule for their first of three Division 2 College Baseball Classics beginning on Thursday, February 23rd and ending on Sunday February 26, 2023.

“It is always exciting to kick off the Spring season with some high level collegiate baseball at Historic Fleming Stadium. We have been putting on these college classics for years now and they have become a staple for our Spring season. Fans will be able to watch great baseball, enjoy ballpark food, listen to classic stadium music, and even unwind with a beer.” said Tobs General Manager Mike Bell.

The first College Classic will feature (4) teams playing a total of (6) games over four days.

Barton College vs Thomas Jefferson University at 4:00 PM

Thomas Jefferson University vs Bluefield State University at 3:30 PM

Thomas Jefferson University vs Bloomsburg University at 12:00 PM

Bloomsburg University vs Bluefield State University at 3:30 PM

Bloomsburg University vs Thomas Jefferson University at 10:30 AM

Bluefield State University vs Bloomsburg University at 1:30 PM

For just $6, fans can purchase an all-day pass and enjoy a full day of high level collegiate baseball action (5 and Under Free). Gates will open 45 minutes prior to the start of the first game of the day.

2023 TOBS SEASON

The 2022 CPL Eastern Conference Champion Wilson Tobs will open up their 2023 season on Sunday May 28th. This game will feature pregame band Matty Begs and a postgame Firework Extravaganza show. The final (2) Firework Extravaganzas of the season will be Saturday, July 1st and Saturday, August 5th. The Wilson Tobs enter their 27th season as a founding member of the Coastal Plain League. The upcoming season for the Tobs will see an expanded community outreach effort, increased participation in helping the less fortunate, a Pettit Cup Championship team, and a fan experience like you have never seen. We would like to dedicate each successful season to the Wilson Community, Coastal Plain League Organization, Host Families, Corporate Partners, and the Dedicated Fans throughout the city of Wilson. The Wilson Tobs have played host to over 100 alumni taken in the draft and have produced a dozen players who have gone on to play in the MLB, including Cy Young & MVP winner Justin Verlander.
