The Tobs won a slug fest in Colonial Heights on Wednesday night, topping Tri City 13-12 in a thriller.

It took 25 runs scored, 29 hits and 7 home runs between the two teams, but in a game that featured three ties and four lead changes, the Tobs prevailed for their second road win of the season.

Thad Ector led the way offensively, reaching base all six times he came to the plate. He finished 4-4, a triple shy of the cycle, including a two-run homer in the first inning to give Wilson (9-6) it’s first lead.

Reigning CPL hitter of the week Chase Waddell continued to swing a hot bat, driving in six Tobs to bring his total to a team-leading 21 RBI.

But the biggest hit of the night came from Matthew Williams, a go-ahead two-run homer in the 9th inning to give the Tobs the lead late.

Brayden Simpson, Keaton Ray and Logen Sutton combined for 10 hits, four homers for the Chili Peppers (6-10), but it wasn’t enough.

Ultimately, two strong innings of relief from Ethan Atchley (1-0) was just enough for the Tobs to secure the victory.

Wilson heads back home to take on the Peninsula Pilots on Thursday. It is Salute to Service day at Historic Fleming Stadium with first pitch schedule for 7:00 p.m.
