Wilson, NC- The Wilson Tobs look to continue their quest for a 1st place finish in the CPL’s East Division on Thursday night against the Holly Springs Salamanders.
Last night, the Wilson Tobs got in the win column last night as they defeated the Peninsula Pilots on the road by a final score of 8-3. Sammy Sass and Greg Delgado each tallied their first homeruns of the season while Matt Schark blasted his fourth over the wall this season. The Tobs became the first team in the East Division to get to the 10-win mark.
Dylan Brosky was able to work around a 9-hit outing only limiting the Pilots to one run. The Tobs would score four runs in the fifth off of the bats of Sass and Schark. And the Tobs would never look
back as they would cruise to a 8-3 win on the road. Wilson leads the season series with Peninsula 3-1 as the road team has won every matchup in 2022.
The next time the Tobs and Pilots will face each other is June 26th, the final day of the first half.
Tonight the Tobs will faceoff with the Salamanders for the third time this season. Both the contests so far have occurred in Wilson on Thirsty Thursdays and both ended in one-run games. Tickets are still available online through showpass, but hurry as they are going fast. After tonight’s battle the same two teams will faceoff again tomorrow night at Ting Stadium, in Holly Springs.
