WILSON, N.C. – Despite both Ryland Urbanczyk and Caleb Clark both shining in their 2023 debuts, the Wilson Tobs (3-2) fell for the second time this season to the Tri-City Chili Peppers (6-1) by a final score of 6-3 at Historic Fleming Stadium.

A four-run third out of the Tri-City offense proved to be the difference, with both Brandon Eike and Krew Bouldin each delivering an RBI double, and Danny Estrada going yard for a two-run shot.

Trailing 6-0 heading into the eighth, the Tobs were able to make it a ballgame. The duo of Anton Lazits and Chase Waddell each came through with an RBI single, while Brian Fry cut the deficit in half with an RBI groundout. Though Wilson threatened in the home half of the ninth, Tri-City closer Jack Goleski retired Connor Tucker to end the ballgame, and giving the Peppers their sixth victory of the summer.

The Tobs are back in action this upcoming Thursday when they face off against the Wilmington Sharks at Historic Fleming Stadium for the team’s second Thirsty Thursday of the 2023 campaign.
