WILSON, N.C. – Despite Will Parkinson’s four and two-thirds of scoreless baseball, the Wilson Tobs (23-16, 9-6) had their four-game winning streak snapped in a 4-3 loss to the Wilmington Sharks (19-18, 7-8) on Monday evening at Historic Fleming Stadium.
The loss marked the Tobs’ first against the Sharks in Wilson this season, and moves them to 3-2 against Wilmington in the 2023 campaign.
The scoring got started early on for the black and yellow, Chase Waddell’s RBI single gave Wilson an early a 1-0 advantage, and after Connor Price reached on an Ethan Wilder error in the home half of the fourth, the Tobs jumped up to a 3-0 lead.
That’s all Wilson would get from there, and with Wilmington slowly able to get back into the contest, that Sharks would end up going out in from on a Dylan Jeffries RBI go-ahead single in the top of the ninth.
Though the Tobs were able to get a base runner in the final frame, Wilson found itself unable to capitalize.
Next up for the Tobs, a trip to Morehead City to take on the Marlins on Wednesday evening at Big Rock Stadium. First pitch is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. ET.
