Wilson, N.C. – The Tobs (7-6) fall 7-5 to the Holly Springs Salamanders (6-6) at Historic Fleming Stadium. 

 

The Tobs struck first in the third inning to take the lead 1-0. Jack Kail doubled to lead off the inning. He was then sent home by a double from Carter Murphy.

 

They struck again in the sixth. Jakhari Howard and Levi McAlister, each with a single, came home off Charlie Bussey III’s sacrifice fly.

 

The Salamanders responded in the seventh with four runs and three in the ninth.

 

On the mound, Colin Murphy kept the Salamanders hitless into the sixth. He was named a Pump it Up Player of the game after 7.1 innings with six strikeouts, two walks, and three hits. 

 

In the ninth Bussey’s leadoff double led to a run, followed by the same from Thad Ector to make it a 7-5 game. Unfortunately, the bases were left loaded for the third game in a row as the Tobs were unable to come back. 

 

The Tobs host the Greenville Yard Gnomes on Tuesday. First pitch of game one is at 7:00 p.m., It’ll be a $2 Tuesday at Historic Fleming Stadium.
