Hampton, Va. – Despite Garrett Anglim’s 2-for-4 day and his third home run in the past two games, the Wilson Tobs (5-3) fell for just the third time this season in a 5-3 loss to the Peninsula Pilots (2-5) on Saturday evening at War Memorial Stadium.

Wilson registered just six hits on the night in the two-run loss, with two coming from Anglim and another pair coming from designated hitter Patrick Fultz in just his third contest suiting up for the Tobs. Peninsula’s Todd Mozoki was dominant in relief for Pilots on Saturday, tossing four hitless frames and striking out five en route to securing the victory in the first meeting between the two in 2023.

Wilson’s Jacob Shapley took the loss for the Tobs out of the ‘pen. The Barton College product allowed two earned runs across two and two-thirds in his third appearance of the summer, evening out his overall record to a 1-1 mark early on in the 2023 campaign.

Wilson now looks to get back on track on Sunday evening when the Pilots make a return trip to the 252 to take on the Tobs at Historic Fleming Stadium. First pitch is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. ET for the season’s first edition of $1 Dogs With Your Dogs.
