WILSON, N.C. – Despite Chase Waddell’s 2-for-4 day at this dish, the Wilson Tobs (23-18, 9-8) dropped their third consecutive contest in a 4-0 loss to the Morehead City Marlins (28-14, 12-6) on Thursday evening at Historic Fleming Stadium.
The loss was also the Tobs’ third consecutive against the Marlins in 2023, with Wilson now 5-4 against Morehead City throughout the duration of the campaign.
Ty Bothwell was the story for the Marlins on Thursday. The left-hander from Indiana tossed seven scoreless frames out of relief in the four-run win, punching out 11 and holding Wilson to just two base hits.
The Tobs return to action this upcoming Friday against the Peninsula Pilots at War Memorial Stadium in Hampton, Va. First pitch is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. ET.
