WILSON, N.C. – Despite Colby Ott’s 2-for-4 day and Anton Lazits’ solo home run, the Wilson Tobs (25-21, 11-11) dropped their second consecutive contest in a 4-3 loss to the Tri-City Chili Peppers (22-23, 10-12) on Thursday night at Historic Fleming Stadium.
Even with the loss, Wilson’s magic number to clinch the final spot in the Petitt Cup Playoffs has dwindled down to one, with the Tobs just needing one more victory to secure that coveted spot.
Next up for the Tobs, a trip to Buck Hardee Field for one final meeting with the Wilmington Sharks on Friday evening in Wilmington, N.C. First pitch is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. ET. The game can be found on the Wilson Tobs MixLr page.
