Wilson ends its west road trip with back-to-back wins, thanks to a 5-2 victory over Martinsville.
The Tobs (24-16) bats were hot early, scoring in each of the first three innings to build a 4-0 lead. Matthew Williams started the scoring with an RBI single. Levi McAllister and Dominic Palma each added RBI doubles as well.
The story of the game came on the mound for Wilson, who used six different pitchers to keep the Mustangs (18-23) at bay. Ethan Athely was credited with the win and Casey O’Dell delivered a perfect 6-out save with three strikeouts.
Wilson is back at home on Sunday for Christmas in July against High-Point Thomasville Hi-Toms. First pitch is set for 6:30 p.m. at Historic Fleming Stadium
