Wilson, N.C. – The TaterHogs fell to the Boone Bigfoots 7-1 before a road trip to Georgia and South Carolina.

It was Homerun 4 Hunger at the ballpark, as fans were offered a free ticket to the game if they donated four or more nonperishable food items for local food pantries.

In the first meeting between the two teams in history, Boone (7-10) scored four runs to lead off the game, from a pair of two-run hits. The Bigfoots tacked on three more insurance runs throughout the contest.

The TaterHogs (11-8) answered with an RBI single from Chase Waddell in the bottom of the first, and that was the only offense Wilson was able to muster. The Hogs left the bases loaded twice and stranded 10 runners.

The Tobacconists will look to get back in the win column on the road after a day off Monday. The Tobs travel to Macon and Florence for matchups with the Bacon and the Flamingos before returning to Historic Fleming Stadium on Thursday for Pink Night at the ballpark. First pitch is 7:00 p.m.

The TaterHogs’ next game has been moved from Thursday to Saturday night against Macon Bacon. It’ll be Cornhole and Tailgate night at Historic Fleming Stadium.
