Bio

Ted Bergquist joins the Tobs for the summer of 2024, adding another notch to his belt for a man whose career in baseball spans back to 1989. Bergquist was a left-handed hurler during his days on the field, but took to coaching following his playing career. After 8 years in the coaching field, Bergquist hung up the whistle for a chest protector and became an umpire. From 1997-2018, Bergquist was an umpire for leagues ranging from D-II collegiate to MILB. In 2020, Bergquist made his return to coaching for Fort Lupton HS in Colorado and then moved on to another Colorado HS at Fossil Ridge in 2022. In 2024, Bergquist accepted the position of pitching coach at Rend Lake College in Illinois where he remains today.

Bergquist had this to say about Wilson & the Tobs, “I am happy to be in Eastern North Carolina for the summer of 2024. I have had many summer ball experiences in my time, but Wilson might end up being hard to beat. Lots of history at Fleming Stadium, and hopefully this season, lots of wins.”
