Mike Bell

Bio

Mike Bell is entering his 16th season with the Tobs & TaterHogs and his 10th as General Manager. Mike is a great example of starting at the bottom of an organization as a 1st year intern and eventually working his way to the General Manager position, and most recently minority owner.

Mike was born and raised in Pittsburgh, PA and is a die hard sports fan. Him and his family moved from Pittsburgh to Charlotte, NC when he was 12. While in Charlotte he was highly involved in baseball and hockey.

Mike attended East Carolina University (ECU) where he earned his bachelors degree in Sports Studies, minor in Business, and a minor in Psychology. He continued his education at ECU by obtaining a Masters degree in Sport Management. As a student at ECU he was inducted to the National Collegiate Honor Society, selected for the Deans List, served as management in Student Government Council, and was as the Captain/President of the East Carolina Hockey Club. While attending ECU Mike worked both for Tobs Baseball and the Charlotte Checkers, formerly the Carolina Hurricanes AHL Affiliated team.

In 2025, the Tobs were crowned league campions and Mike was named Executive of the year of the Coastal Plain League. His goal every year is to bring high-level & affordable entertainment for everyone, provide a positive economic impact through year-round events, and to improve the quality of life to as many as possible through community outreach.
