Wilson, N.C. - The Wilson Tobs are pleased to announce that the Division II College Classics were a success for both the Tobs & the Wilson community, despite losing one College Classic due to weather. Six northern college baseball teams made their way to Wilson in early March for two weeks of games. The College of Saint Rose, Kutztown University, Glenville State University, Clarion University, Alderson Broaddus University and Chestnut Hill College all made the trip to Wilson, enjoyed the comfort of Wilson hotels, ate at Wilson restaurant staples, and experienced the rich Wilson baseball culture first hand. These College Classics give the community a little tease prior to opening night of Tobs season on Sunday May 28.

The 2022 CPL Eastern Conference Champion Wilson Tobs will open up their 2023 season on Sunday May 28th. This game will feature pregame band Matty Begs and a postgame Firework Extravaganza show. The final (2) Firework Extravaganzas of the season will be Saturday July 1st and Saturday August 5th. The Wilson Tobs enter their 27th season as a founding member of the Coastal Plain League. The upcoming season for the Tobs will see an expanded community outreach effort, increased participation in helping the less fortunate, a Pettit Cup Championship team, and a fan experience like you have never seen. We would like to dedicate each successful season to the Wilson Community, Coastal Plain League Organization, Host Families, Corporate Partners, and the Dedicated Fans throughout the city of Wilson. The Wilson Tobs have played host to over 100 alumni taken in the draft and have produced a dozen players who have gone on to play in the MLB, including Cy Young & MVP winner Justin Verlander.
