(Wilson, N.C.) – The Wilson Tobs took an 8-1 victory over the Peninsula Pilots on Saturday night. Nick Hollas was solid for seven innings earning his fourth win.
Hollas' night started on a high note. The right hander threw nine pitches, all for strikes, striking out three for an immaculate inning. The Tobs starter struck out eight of the first ten batters he faced. Leading 4-0, Wilson surrendered their only run of the game on a Jake Boone solo home run to left in the fourth.
The Tobs busted out for three runs in the bottom of the third inning. Shamoy Christopher brought home a run, as did Chris Meyers and Kevin Jordan. The Tobs led 4-1 before piling on four in the seventh inning. Christopher launched his seventh home run of the year to give him a season high four runs batted in. The Pilots stranded just three runners, tallying four hits in the game.
Wilson came away with an 8-1 victory for their second win in a row. Hollas (4-2) went seven innings with nine strike outs and one run allowed on four hits for his fourth win of the year. Pilots' starter Matt Litwicki (1-4) lasted four innings, surrendering four runs for the loss.
