Wilson, N.C. – The Tobs get back in the win column with a 7-4 win over the Greenville Yard Gnomes on Tuesday night.

Thanks to two Chase Waddell home runs, the Tobs (8-6) were able to erase an early 3-0 Yard Gnomes (3-11) lead.

In the fourth inning, the Hometown Hero came to the plate with Jack Kail and Thad Ector on base. Waddell sent a bomb to right field to tie up the game 3-3.

Two innings later, Ector drew another walk to get on base for Waddell who went yard again. His two-run homer brought the game to 5-3. Matthew Williams walked a few batters later and was driven home by a Kasten Harvey single.

Waddell was 2-3 with 2 HR, BB and 3 Runs as an encore to his CPL Trackman Hitter of the Week honors.

The Tobs bullpen held the Gnomes to one run after the second inning. Nathan Leininger (1-0) went 2.2 scoreless innings and Casey O’Dell secured the save.

Wilson plays in Tri-City tomorrow at 7:00pm. The Tobs will be back at Fleming on Thursday evening for Salute to Service against the Peninsula Pilots. The first pitch is scheduled for 7:00pm.
