It was a marathon at Historic Fleming Stadium on Tuesday as the Tobs swept the double header against the Morehead City Marlins.

Late rallies were once again in the air for Wilson, walking off both games in thrilling fashion.

Game one ended with a walk-off grand slam from Jerry Barnes. The Tobs once trailed 8-2 and stormed back in the sixth and seventh frames to stun the fish. Carter Murphy launched a long ball to start the scoring. A few excellent defensive efforts from the Marlins kept the Tobs at bay for most of the game, but a crucial error helped the Tobs give Barnes a chance to win the game late.

“It was awesome, it was just surreal”, Barnes expressed after his first Tobs grand salami.

Game two was a grind. A game originally scheduled for seven innings took ten to complete, and ended with Charlie Bussey III grounding a ball to Chase Bloomer with the bases loaded, and Kasten Harvey beat the throw home for the game-winning run.

Casey O’Dell shoved out of the bullpen. He came in to pitch the seventh inning to keep the game tied and ended up throwing four innings out of the bullpen. The hard throwing right handed picked a comebacker at the mound and flipped it over to Bussey at first to end the top of the 10th – and he was amped up to give his team the chance to win.

The Tobs capitalized on an error from Morehead City in the sixth to tie the game at two apiece to fuel their second late rally of the day.

It took the Tobacconists 17 innings, they scored 15 runs and took home two [W]s at Historic Fleming Stadium.
