WILSON, N.C. – The Wilson Tobs (12-11, 2-1) walked-off the Holly Springs Salamanders (15-11, 2-1) 9-8 in the 10th inning on Saturday night at Historic Fleming Stadium.

Wilson took a 1-0 lead in the 1st inning on a Gary Mattis (Tennessee Wesleyan) RBI double surrendered by Holly Springs starting pitcher Isaac Coffey (Oral Roberts).

The Salamanders threatened to score in the 3rd inning by loading the bases on a two-out rally. With two away, Jax Cash (North Greenville) and Ryan Nicholson (Cincinnati) hit well-placed infield singles and Mikey Madej (North Carolina) followed by drawing a walk to load the bases for Caden Miller (San Diego State). With no more room for Miller, Tobs starting pitcher Braxton Bragg (Nebraska) gassed a 93-MPH fastball for a swing-and-miss strike three to end the frame.

In the 4th inning, Brainy Rojas (East Stroudsburg) plated Drew DeVine (Western Michigan) and Dylan Scaranda (Barton College) on a two-RBI base that increased the Tobs lead to 3-0.

Wilson plated five runs in the 6th inning to extend their lead to 8-0. With one out and the bases loaded, Chase Wullenweber (Tusculum) singled to score the first Tobs run of the inning. Braedon Blackford (Purdue-Ft. Wayne) followed by capping off the scoring on a grand slam putting Wilson up by eight runs.

Holly Springs responded with a six-run top of the 7th inning to cut into the Tobs lead 8-6. With one out, the Salamanders sent seven straight batters to the plate in a six-hit and one-walk sequence capitalizing consisting of five base hits and a two RBI double by Baxter Halligan (Point Loma Nazarene University).

Carlos Rey (Nova Southeastern) pitched the 8th inning in relief for Wilson and set down the Salamanders in-order, but gave up two unearned runs in the 9th when Holly Springs capitalized on an error by Mattis at shortstop that tied the game 8-8.

In the top of the 10th inning, Justin Guidos (East Stroudsburg) entered the game in relief for Wilson and struck out two Salamanders to set up the Tobs for the walk-off in the bottom half of the frame.

Blackford came through for Wilson in the bottom of the 10th by delivering a clutch two-out RBI single that walked-off the Salamanders 9-8.

Guidos earned the win pitching 1.0 scoreless innings on two strikeouts.

Holly Springs reliever Davis Palermo (North Carolina) was handed the loss. He gave up one run in 1.2 innings pitched on two hits while recording three strikeouts.

Bragg completed his starting throwing 4.0 shutout innings on four strikeouts. The Salamanders tabbed him for four hits and one walk.

Coffey finished the night allowing three runs on five hits in 3.1 innings pitched.

Blackford finished the night 2-4 with five RBIs.
