Wilson, N.C. – Sara Killeen recently announced that after (7) seasons with the Wilson Tobs and (5) as Assistant General Manager, that she has accepted a new position with the Durham Bulls as one of the Baseball Sponsorship Account Executives. Even with a new path ahead in another position, this will not be the last time the Tobs and the Wilson community see Sara, as she plans to visit Wilson and those she has formed a special bond with. During her time with the Tobs, Sara held an extremely versatile position where she was responsible for community outreach, community programs, sponsorship & ticket sales, event operations, and much more. This experience will prove beneficial for her as she moves on in her career.  When asked about leaving the Tobs and the City of Wilson Sara stated, “It is a bittersweet moment to be leaving the Tobs organization, but I know I’ll be able to take everything I have learned from this organization with me in the future. I will definitely miss seeing all the fans at the ballpark and throughout Wilson that have become such an important part of my life these past several years. I am grateful the Tobs brought me into their organization and gave me the ability to grow within this community”.

Sara has become highly involved within the Wilson community since moving here years ago. She serves as an Ambassador for the Wilson Chamber of Commerce and as the Gig360 Wilson Young Professionals Group Internal Communications Officer, with the goal of growing the Wilson business community. Anyone that knows Sara understands that she is a well-respected member of Wilson because of her love for people and the local community.

With bittersweet goodbyes over the past few weeks as the news has made its way across Wilson, the day has finally come. Sara helped build the Tobs up into something more than just baseball and paved a new road for the organization with each year being more successful than the last. Sara will be missed by everyone who has had the joy of coming across her path while she has been with the Tobs and Fleming Stadium will not quite feel the same when the boys come back to town in May. The Tobs Director of Operations & Group Sales, who will now step into the Assistant General Manager role after Sara’s departure, had this to say, “Sara is not only my colleague, but also my friend. I wish her nothing but the best and know that she will do great wherever her career takes her. Any team is lucky to have someone like Sara.”

It is obvious that Sara has a bright future ahead of her and will positively impact any organization she comes in contact with as she continues her professional career. Tobs General Manager Mike Bell summed up how much Sara meant to the Tobs organization by stating, “Sara will always hold a special place within the Tobs family. How much she did for and brought to the Tobs is hard to match and replace. It felt like no matter where she went in the ballpark and throughout Wilson, people knew her. There are many reasons she will be missed but none more than not seeing a friend at the ballpark every day”. Sara may not be part of the Tobs staff anymore but she will always be part of the Tobs family. Tobs Roll!
